Bhagvad Gita - The need for today | Shrimad Bhagvad Gita | Shri Krishna |

In todays world, where people are running behind money forgetting everything including moral values, relationships, commitments and most importantly Spirituality, something that needs to be highlighted is the essence of Shrimad Bhagvad Gita. It is the book that can change one's entire perspective of looking at life and help us to lead a better life.

So, what is Bhagvad Gita? Bhagvad Gita is the conversation between a conused soul like us, ie- Jeevatama ij the form of Arjuna with Parmaatma (bhagvaan, the ultimate truth) in the form of bhagvaan Shri Krishna. It was just before the grand war of Mahabharat, that Arjun was feeling depressed seeing his entire family ready for war. He didn't want to fight the war against his own family memebers and was also ready to leave the path of dharma ( righteousness) if it costed the decline of his emtire clan. Sensing Arjuna's resentment, bhagwaan Shri Krishna enlightened with divine knowledge dharma and life and also showed Arjuna the divine almighty Vishwaswaroop of himself. This coversation between Arjun and Shri Krishna is present in the Bhishma Parva of Mahabharatam.

The solutions of all problems of life can be found in the Bhagvad Gita. Bhagvaan Shri Krishna enlightened the entire mankind with this divine knowledge and not just Arjuna. People these days try to find inspiration on YouTube and other social media platforms, but what we need to know is that there is no greater book that can inspire us to do our karma so profoundly like Bhagavad Gita does. Bhagvad Gita not just inspires to do our duties nicely but also helps us in healing by showing us the ultimate truth and encourages us to move on the path of spirituality to establish our permanent connection with the divine that is lost by us living in this material world.

The words of this book are so deep that no matter how many times you read it,  you will understand it in thousand different ways, such is the depth of each and every word spoken by Shri Krishna. This is because these words are directly spoken by swayam bhawaan Shri Krishna that have the power to liberate us from any bondage of life and ultimately the cycle of birth & death . Most of the times in Bhagvad Gita, the word ' Shri bhagvaan uvach' means God says is used, for you that supreme being may be any form of God as he is the ultimate truth who takes various forms to uplift humans. This proves that Geeta is not a religious book bounded by culture and ethnicity, but it is a spiritual book meant for the entire human community.

Bhagvad Gita has the power to kill all the demons that are penetrating in the minds of each and every human being and sow the the seeds of love and compassion for all the living entities of this world. There are total 18 chapters in bhagavad Gita and each chapter has it's own teachings for different problems of this world faced by humans. For examples, the second chapter of it has the power to take anyone out of any kind of grief of this world, such is the essence of the words of Shri bhagvaan Krishna. The Bhagvad Gita enlightens us with the eternal truth showing us to how to live life the correct way without being attached the people, our karmas or their result or any other thing of this world. People try to find everywhere in this world but don't open Bhagvad Gita where actually the solution of their problem lies once.

For devotees and sadhaks who want to increase their love and bhakti towards Shri Hari Vishnu and Shri Krishna, reading Bhagvad Gita is the first step. Especially for invoking love for Shri Krishna in our hearts one must definitely read 'Bhagvad Gita as it is ' by bhakti vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada. Honorable Srila Prabhupada was a great Vaishnav and the establisher of International Society of Krishna Consciousness popularly Known as ISKCON. His commentaries are immersed un the ocean of love for Krishna and one may automatically be attracted to Krishna after reading his commentaries. Moreover Bhagvad Gita shows us the path that through which we can attain the Supreme bliss, ie- the lotus feet of bhagwaan Shri Krishna and his beautiful abode.

However, if your ishta dev is some other form of bhagvaan and you just want to read Bhagvad Gita to understand the philosophy and truth of life, you can definitely refer 'Bhagvad Gita as it' is but at the same time you can prefer other commentaries like the one published by Gita Press.

We need Gita in today's world very much, the world where humanity is dyeing, where money is everything to people , where the youth chooses the wrong path arbitrarily, where anger, lust, greed is ruling the minds of people, the world where hatred is in roots of almost everything, the world where the love for nature, animals and even parents is diminishing, where loyalty is fading, the world where humans are turning into animals, ready for their personal gains. This is the world where we live in and The Bhagvad Gita has the power to bring people on the right path. All it requires is some patience and mindful reading.

So, here at the end of this post I am sharing something I found on internet whose source is unknown but I feel that everyone of us should read this at least once.

The old to know how to die; the ignorant for wisdom; the learned for humility; the rich for compassion; the por for comfort; the dreamer for enchantment; the practical for councel; the weak for strength; the strong for direction; the haughty for warning;.
